BAISHAKHI EVENT 2005

Human Process Laboratories from April 27 to May 1, 2005, at Xavier Labour Relations Institute (XLRI), Jamshedpur

Basic Laboratory on Human Processes (BLHP) - 5 days

Objective: To enable the participant to

become aware of his/her patterns of behaviour and its impact on others;

improve his/her effectiveness in interpersonal interactions and derive greater satisfaction from them;

recognise feelings, diagnose needs and improve his/her ability to deal with conflict; and

discover his/her potential to live life meaning fully and effectively.

For Whom: The Laboratory is meant for any person interested in developing his/her personal and interpersonal competence. Personnel, HRD and training professionals, executives in different functional areas, students, doctors, lawyers and other professionals who work with people, faculty in Management, psychology, sociology and social work, university and school teachers and persons in rural development, voluntary and social service organisations are some of the people who typically attend this programme.

Advanced Laboratory on Human Processes (ALHP) - 5 days

Objective: To enable the participant to

enhance learning and experimentation initiated by him/her in the Basic Laboratory on Human Processes;

develop greater awareness of behavioural processes associated with his/her life and work on dilemmas faced in the context of perceived realities; and

practise skills of observation of human processes and interventions.

For Whom: Individuals who have participated in a Basic Laboratory in Human Processes or its equivalent (L-Group/Human Relations programmes in laboratory mode, etc.)

Programme Details

Dates: April 27 to May 1, 2005

Venue: MDP Centre, Xavier Labour Relations Institute (XLRI), Jamshedpur

Facilitators: Facilitators for all the Human Process Laboratories will be drawn from the Professional Members of the Indian Society for Applied Behavioural Science. Co-facilitators may include Interns and other participants in the advanced Phases of the Society's Professional Development Programme.

Fee:

Corporate (AC single room) : Rs. 13,000/=

Corporate (AC twin-sharing room) : Rs. 10,500/=

NGOs/Educational Institutes/Self-sponsored (AC twin-sharing room) : Rs. 5,500/=

The programme is residential. Fee includes participation in the Laboratory, morning tea, breakfast, mid-morning tea/coffee, lunch, mid-afternoon tea/coffee, dinner, and room accommodation. All other expenses incurred by the participant would be to his/her own account, and would have to be settled directly before departure.

Applications: Applications will be accepted on a first-come-first-served basis. Last date: April 17, 2005. Please note that your application will be registered and confirmed by us only on receipt of your application form with programme fees in full. Your early response would help us plan the event better. Any cancellation after the confirmation of applications will entail a deduction of 25% of the programme fee towards administrative costs incurred by us. Cheques/DDs should be drawn in favour of "Indian Society for Applied Behavioural Science, Calcutta Region" payable on Kolkata.

Timings: The Laboratories will commence at 9.30 am on April 27, and close on May 1 at 5.00 pm. Participants may choose to arrive at XLRI MDP Residence in the evening of April 26.

CAUTION: A person who has experienced continuous mental stress or has been under psychiatric treatment or has a history of mental disorders, or has had a coronary or heart attack(s), must not be nominated to or join the BLHP and ALHP Laboratories. ISABS will not be responsible for any of such problems’ developed during or after participation in any ISABS Laboratory. It is implicit that each participant joins the Laboratory with informed voluntary consent and owns responsibility for his or her own health.
